Hawzah News Agency- A major commemorative gathering of religious scholars from diverse sects and denominations has been held in Lebanon to honor the legacy of the martyred Imam, Grand Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei. Speakers at the event highlighted his scholarly and jihadist path, his pivotal role, and the profound impact of his stances on the region and the broader Islamic world.
Lebanon's Shia Council: Iran Enters a New Era of Strength
Sheikh Ali al-Khatib, Vice President of Lebanon's Supreme Islamic Shia Council, declared that the Islamic Republic of Iran after the martyrdom of Imam Khamenei "is no longer as it was before," emphasizing that the country now stands at a new starting point and a position of renewed strength.
He stated that Iran is currently shaping a new beginning for the entire world in confronting the West and its resulting challenges, describing the Western-led global order as one that "recognizes no values and is hollow to the core."
Sheikh al-Khatib accused the United States and its leadership of surviving solely on lies and hypocrisy, using brute force and power as their tools to subjugate the world. He stressed that the intellectual, religious, and moral roots of Iran's leadership run deep among the Iranian people, the Arab and Islamic nations, and all free peoples of the world.
"The loss of this great leader has been accompanied by a great achievement," al-Khatib said. "We have gained ourselves, our religion, our ethics, and a new future for our Ummah—the effects of which we will soon witness."
He further emphasized that the Islamic Republic is today confronting the world's greatest arrogant power head-on. Criticizing those who have bet on wrong options and sold out their homeland, people, and martyrs, he asserted: "These individuals hold no value whatsoever in the eyes of their masters."
Lebanese Scholars: No Negotiations with the Zionist Enemy
For his part, Sheikh Zuhair Ja'id, Vice President of the Gathering of Muslim Scholars of Lebanon, reaffirmed his firm opposition to any negotiation framework between the Lebanese government and the Zionist regime. He stressed that the United States is not a mediator but a "full partner in shedding our blood."
Sheikh Ja'id emphasized adherence to the path of the "Islamabad" framework between Iran and the United States, declaring: "We will not retreat from Lebanon's sovereignty, and we will not surrender an inch of this nation's soil."
Orthodox Bishop Condemns Assassination
Bishop Ibrahim Shahin, head of the Orthodox Spiritual Court in Tripoli, also addressed the gathering, condemning the crime of assassinating Imam Seyyed Ali Khamenei.
The ceremony also featured a speech by Seyyed Ali Hijazi, representing the Islamic seminaries, who underscored the virtues of the martyred Imam and reflected on how his blessings continue to resonate across the region and the Islamic world.
